Family Fun

When there is a rainy day, or even just a relaxing weekend where the kids are bored and there’s nothing to do (even though there’s plenty). We always get out the board games, there are two toy boxes full with different types of games. So we are never really bored but sometimes it can be difficult to choose what to play, especially as my girls are both different ages.

Theres are some games that we have been playing recently as you can see there is quite a collection.

Board games

So when we discovered these games I couldn’t wait to get them out.

Timeline games

The two that I have are Timeline Inventions and Timeline General Interest.

These are simple, quick and fun games. They come in a small tin that is great to throw into my handbag and have been life savers when we have been out for meals and the wait for food has been a while. Each game you have to put the cards in the correct timeline, by placing one of your cards where you think it  goes  in the Timeline. Before turning it over to see if you are right. If you are right it stays there, however if you are wrong then the card gets discarded and a new one is drawn. There is only one goal –  to correctly place all of your cards.  It takes about 15 minutes to play which I think is good, it also great for learning, there are more Timeline games that I want to add to our collection  here is the list.

  • General Interest
  • Historical Events
  • British History
  • Invention
  • Music and Cinema
  • Science and Discoveries

With these games, you can combine two of them to make it more fun. They are reasonably priced too at £13.99 I have also bought these for my girls friends as gifts and have been a huge hit. I think the General Interest one will be coming out when we have friends round in a few weeks, even though my general knowledge isn’t great, so I know I won’t be winning that one.

One that we were very excited about was this one

Starwars Timeline

This one goes with Episodes IV: A New Hope, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. It’s a great addition to anyones starters collection, its been a favourite for my youngest who has is becoming a big Star Wars fan. I have also just found out that there is a new Star Wars timeline contains – Episodes I-III.

Timeline also have website that you can check out here where you can learn how to play
