This months game is Timeline – British History
Description
Timeline British History is a card game that is played using 109 cards. Each card has an event on both sides, with the year in which that it happened on one side. Players take turns placing a card from their hand in a row on the table. After placing the card, the player reveals the date on it. If the card was placed correctly with the date in chronological order with all other cards on the table, the card stays in place; otherwise the card is removed from play and the player takes another card from the deck. The first player to get rid of all their cards by placing them correctly wins. If multiple players go out in the same round, then everyone else is eliminated from play and each of those players are dealt one more card for another round of play. If only one player has no cards after a bonus round, they win otherwise play continues until a single player goes out.
Timeline is simple, quick and fun game to play with all the family. They come in a small tin that is great to throw into my bag and have been life savers when we have been out for meals and the wait for food has taken a while or just kill the boredness they have while waiting. This half term we packed it into our suitcase as we were going away. Each game takes about 15 minutes to play which I think is a good amount of time, it also great for learning. Whilst playing we have learnt so much about British history that we didn’t know or thought it had happened years after it did. It would be a fab game for anyone who does home education too. I like that you can also combine more than one Timeline game to make game play a little more interesting.
